    HWe support more humane treatment of pets in public spaces.

    We believe:

    • A small pet, such as a dog, should be allowed to sit on the lap of its owner.

    • An owner should be allowed to feed a pet while it is sitting on the owner’s lap.

    This should be allowed when the pet is in a restaurant or hotel lounge and:

    • behaves appropriately

    • is small enough for the owner to handle

    • does not touch chairs, couches, tables, or utensils

    • any food ordered for the pet is paid for in full
